Give the next generation a corner.
Walu’s Corner is a boxing-based youth development initiative led by Coach Walu in Munich.
It builds on work Walu has been doing for years: seeing potential, developing young people and creating opportunities through sport.

A new chapter. For more than one person.
In 2024, Coach Walu had to leave Uganda and begin again in Munich.
He arrived with more than two decades of experience in boxing, youth development and international sport, but without the platform and network he had built over many years.
At Boxwerk Munich, he found his way back into coaching.
And he began meeting young people whose own lives had also been shaped by migration, change and the challenge of finding their place in a new environment.
For Walu, that connection is personal.
“I know exactly what they are going through.”
Walu’s Corner grows from that experience.
Its mission is to use boxing, coaching and real relationships to help young people find strength, direction, belonging and a path forward.
To build a trusted youth development platform that starts in Munich, grows beyond one gym and can reach more young people and communities over time.
Boxing is the vehicle.
Human development is the purpose.
Competition is one possible path.

A place to come back to.
The ambition is simple: create more opportunities for young people to train with Walu, build relationships and develop over time.
Some may discover boxing for the first time.
Some may simply find a place where they want to keep showing up.
And for those with the talent and commitment to go further, the door to competition should be open.
Seeing potential early.
Sorela came to Germany with his family from Afghanistan. Years later, boxing became part of a new chapter.
When Coach Walu first met him, he saw something before the titles came.
“I saw the discipline in his eyes.”
Sorela kept showing up. Under pressure, he stayed calm.
Today, at 15, he has fought more than 20 bouts and become German U17 Champion.
Two different journeys brought Walu and Sorela to Munich. Boxing brought them together.
His story is one example of what Walu’s Corner can make possible for more young people.

Support makes it possible to create access, regular training and real next steps for young people who want to continue.

Continuity
